PET

ODOUR?

Pet Odour in Carpet

Pet odour in carpet is not a surface problem. Urine penetrates the fibre, the backing, and often the underpad or subfloor. Surface cleaning may temporarily mask the smell, but the odour returns because the source is below the surface. Effective odour treatment requires addressing the contamination where it sits, not just the fibre you can see.

ODOUR

GOES DEEP.

Why Surface Cleaning Is Not Enough

Urine salts crystallise in the backing and underpad. When humidity rises, the salts reactivate and the odour returns. A standard cleaning process cleans the fibre but does not reach the contamination in the backing or subfloor. This is why pet odour treatment is a separate process from standard carpet cleaning, and why results depend on how deep the contamination goes.

Honest About Limitations

SpeedyDry assesses pet odour contamination before quoting treatment. In some cases, the carpet can be treated effectively. In severe cases, the underpad may need replacement and the subfloor may need sealing. We do not promise to eliminate every odour with a single treatment — we assess, explain the options, and quote accordingly. Honesty about what is achievable is better than a guarantee that cannot be kept.

Treatment Approach

Assess. Treat. Honest.

Pet odour treatment is quoted separately from standard cleaning. The process depends on severity: surface-level contamination, backing contamination, or subfloor contamination. We assess first, then explain what is achievable and what it costs. The residential minimum of $279.30 plus GST applies.
