Does Dry Carpet Cleaning Really Work? | SpeedyDry

Dry Cleaning

DOES IT

REALLY WORK?

The Direct Answer

Yes — but "dry carpet cleaning" needs some explaining. What consumers call "dry cleaning" actually covers several different low-moisture methods: compound cleaning (absorbent granules), encapsulation carpet cleaning (polymer chemistry that crystallizes soil), bonnet cleaning (a rotating pad), and very-low-moisture spray-and-brush systems. None of these are truly waterless. They all use some moisture — just significantly less than hot water extraction. The question is not whether dry cleaning works, but which method is right for your carpet and soil level.

"DRY"

EXPLAINED.

The Methods Called "Dry"

Compound Cleaning: Absorbent granules impregnated with solvent are brushed into carpet, then vacuumed out with soil. Encapsulation: A polymer solution crystallizes around soil particles, which are then removed by vacuuming. Bonnet Cleaning: A rotating pad soaked in cleaning solution absorbs soil from the surface. Very-Low-Moisture: A small amount of solution is sprayed and agitated, then recovered. All use less water than extraction — but all use some water. The advantage is faster drying. The trade-off is that some methods clean surface soil more effectively than deep contamination.

WHAT

SPEEDYDRY DOES.

SpeedyDry's Controlled-Moisture Process

SpeedyDry does not claim to provide waterless cleaning. We use a controlled-moisture process that applies only the water the fibre needs — significantly less than traditional hot water extraction, but enough to effectively lift and suspend soil. The nano emulsion chemistry works with minimal moisture, and the extraction removes soil and solution together. Carpet is typically dry in 60–90 minutes. This is not "dry cleaning" in the marketing sense — it is low-moisture cleaning in the technical sense.
