MOISTURE.
What Low-Moisture Means
Low-moisture carpet cleaning uses controlled moisture — enough to dissolve and suspend soil, not enough to saturate the fibre, backing, and underpad. The result: faster drying, lower risk of wicking and browning, and better fibre safety — especially for wool. SpeedyDry uses a low-moisture process with CRI Seal of Approval certified solutions.
LESS WATER.
FASTER DRY.
How It Differs
Saturation methods (steam/hot water extraction) use large volumes of water under pressure. Low-moisture methods use a fraction of that water, relying on chemistry and agitation to lift soil, then extraction to remove it. The trade-off: low-moisture may require more attention to chemistry and process, but the drying advantage and fibre safety are significant — especially in Sidney's coastal climate where humidity can slow evaporation.
Why It Matters in Sidney
Coastal climate. Humidity.
Sidney's location on the Saanich Peninsula means higher average humidity than inland areas. High humidity slows evaporation, which means saturation methods leave carpet wet longer. Low-moisture cleaning mitigates this by using less water in the first place. The residential minimum of $279.30 plus GST applies.
